The first volunteering date at the Ronald McDonald House was a success! Hands for Hopes connected with children, patients, and families as activities like bracelet making and origami occurred. Smiles graced the faces of all the kids when they were able to take part in this fun and interactive experience. Seeing these smiles and enthusiasm from the kids was something that impacted many. According to one of the volunteers “being able to see [the kids] filled with joy though they were going through tough times showed me how small gestures like making bracelets can make a big impact” continuing to say that “it is important that we look after the kids’ emotional well-being just as much as their physical well-being.” Hands for Hopes is trying to spread positivity in our community as well as expanding knowledge and appreciation of volunteers. To continue to spread positivity and smiles Hands for Hopes are going to work with the Ronald McDonald House in future events as well.
